Yesterday was a long day. I started the day off with 6 am volleyball practice. I had one mom meet there to tell me this will be the last game day practice that she will let her daughter go to because it is just too hard on the girls and with other things like football games it makes it too late of a night- I do not like upset parents but I just told her that we sometimes have to make hard decisions as a coach and we really need to be supported. I just mostly let her do the talking. A few weird silent moments of her standing there waiting for what I don't know, so I just started getting balls out and talking to the girls. I will leave it at that so that I don't say something offensive. We left for the game around 1:30 ish. We played LightHouse Christian in Twin Falls. I rode the bus with Heidi, the other coach. She has been very good at helping get things figured out. I was super nervous for this game. I just didn't want the whistle to be blown on us for a rule I should have known about. The facility was quite herendous. It was a metal warehouse with stacks of lumber and gidgets and gadgets all around, a weight area in one corner and a pieced together floor in the other corner for the volleyball court. It was HOT and no access to water by the court. Besides that, the girls really surprised me and played well. We lost in 2 sets, but they had quite a few volleys. We will only get better and can't wait to see how they improve.
Savanna played really well. She had a lot of touches on the ball. Her team lost also in 2. They will improve too.
