Finally we are cast free. The xrays looked pretty good. He still wants her to be careful for 6 more weeks. No gymnastics or climbing on things or jungle gyms in case of a fall. One of the bones looks pretty filled in but the other isn't as dense so that is where the be careful comes in. It doesn't hurt her. She did walk past something and jam her wrist on it. It stretched her fingers into her forearm. That motion hurt. It hasn't had a chance to move so I think it was just a bit stiff. She was cute that night, tuesday, "Mom, are you sure I can get my arm wet?" She was so so excited to take a shower. She was so brave through this whole thing. The first picture is of her getting it cut off. She just sat there and smiled because it tickles. And then she is waiting for xray and is picking off dead dirty skin. G
It was pretty dirty in there.

Meet the team
Tonight was "Meet the Team" night for the High School. It should have been called "Football Night" but oh well. They introduced all the teams and then the football team played for a bit. I just can't get that into football. But I am sure ready to watch some Volleyball. Savanna's team has been practicing all week. There are new coaches and it is all new. They went into it this week with nobody having a spot so anything could happen. This morning they announced teams or who is JV and who is Varsity. Savanna was pulled up to Varsity because of some injured girls. This year she wasn't sure how it would play out. She feels like she is a strong player and her hitting has gotten better. She didn't care either way as long as she got to play. They announced today. She is on Varsity. They start practice as seperate teams this next week and have their first match on the first day of school. Can't wait. Hallie is playing on the 8th grade team. They too have been practicing. She has improved so much since last season. Her and Savanna were able to attend 2 really great camps this summer. Can't wait to watch some ball. Good luck girls. Love you and am so proud of your hard work.
(In the picture, Savanna is on the right side in a black jacket. Not a great picture but better than none, I think. This picture is of JV and Varsity teams)

Great Sunday
We had a great Sunday. I know Sunday is the sabbath and is meant to be a day of rest, but sometimes it is quite the opposite. I really try and fill my mom's shoes on Sunday but I have come to realize that I will never measure up to my mom. She always had a beautiful meal prepared for after church, homemade rolls, mashed potatoes (not the fake kind) and gravy, a roast , with a few side hot vegetables and a dessert. And on Sunday I think I should have a day off because everyone else does, but those thoughts make me cranky because it is not my day off. I have changed my thinking to Sunday is not my day off. I get breaks during the week and those are my days off. As silly as that sounds, it makes for a more peaceful weekend because I am not disappointed in my expectations. Grandma would bring her cake with that fluffy eggwhite frosting quite often. We usually were eating within 2 hours of getting out of church. My grandma and grandpa would come over every Sunday and dinner was served in nice dishes and we sat in the dining room. It is a lot of stinkin' work to get that accomplished. A while back I decided that I will make an effort to get nice dinner because I do love sitting together and eating but it will be at dinner time so that I still get a few hours after church to have some "chillin" time. Anyways, back to this Sunday. I really made the effort to have things prepped saturdah night so that we weren't late for church. It actually worked. The kids weren't ready to get up but that is nothing new. Jase was out til 1 and Savanna was out til 12 and everyone else stayed up til 11:30 ish. But we all made it out of bed. Hallie taught her lesson. It was on Strengthening our Families. She did a great job. I was very proud. I think it will be such a great learning experience for the girls because I feel that the teacher always gets more out of the lesson. She challenged us to pick something that we can do to help strengthen our relationships at home. I am going to really make an effort to have a "sit to the table" dinner at least 5 times a week and not just Sunday.
Kell came over after church and stayed for dinner. My kids love having company over for dinner and so do I. I am blessed to have so much family around.

Stay at home
Today I had a stay at home day and it was hard. It was hard to just be home. Not in the sense that I don't want to be here or that my kids were driving me crazy. But we have been on the go so much that I just mentally have been on vacation from my house wife duties and have temporarily forgotten how to stay home. We have had an amazing summer full of family, late nights, friends, fires, fair, school shopping, dr appointments, helping Kd with wood project, the play, family reunion, girls camp, pioneer celebration. It is time to start having some down time so that my kids can transition into school mode. Even my kids wake up wondering who is coming over or can they play or can we go somewhere.
I didn't get much done but I did get some laundry done. I got my first batch of green beans canned. The kids "had" to pick them. They picked yesterday morning. They were picking while I was over picking a few raspberries. They were cracking me up. Savanna was getting grossed out about spiders and bugs and the dirt. Can't remember what Hallie was complaining about. But it just made me smile listening to them. Then Ginger the naughty dog kept running in the road and she wouldn't let us catch her. She got sent right to time out, after we caught the little wild weenie. Anyways, it was quite an eventful morning in the garden. I actually had the motivation to cook dinner today. We had our first batch of fresh corn on the cob from the garden and ooohh it was yummy. We will be having it a lot. Other than that it was an uneventful day and I loved it. We did end it with a small fire out at the pit. Savanna and Jase are at the fair with friends and Macey is over for the night. - I said "I" was having a no play day:). My dad and I were the only ones chillin by the fire. It was nice.
Hallie has to teach the young women lesson tomorrow. We got all prepared and she is ready. It is a big job but she will do awesome. I will report how she did tomorrow. Good night ya'll

New niece
Amy had her baby on Monday. Miss Adelayde came into this world Monday afternoon. Me and the kids decided to make a trip to go see her on Tuesday. She is so cute and tiny. Holding her was so fun. I forgot how small they are and how much worrying you do for those tiny things but I was also reminded of how having a baby is such a miracle and how special it is between husband and wife to bring a baby into this world. To think "wow, we made this baby".
Livee was in baby heaven. She wanted to hold her the whole time. She thinks we should have another baby.
After baby time, we went and spent the night at Kaydee's. She has learned how to do eyelash extentions and so Savanna and I volunteered to be a client. We love them. Savanna normally is very picky about her eyelashes and spends oodles of time doing her makeup but now she doesnt have to and has gained some time back. It was a great visit.
Fair time
It is fair week. Monday, Savanna and I volunteered to work in the burger booth and so the other kids tagged along. It was ok. Yesterday we went and hung out with Kell and her kids. It was family night at the rodeo so we went to the rodeo. My younger kids haven't been to a whoe rodeo. They loved it. Livee asked me 1,000 questions. Dows that hurt the cow? Does that hurt the cowboy? Why do the cows have to be tied up for 6 seconds? How come that little girl is riding? How come there are clowns? Why is that horse right there?
The list could go on forever. It was fun to see her so enthusiastic about it but my ears were ready for some quietness after that. Jase loved the chasing the cow part. I loved the kettle corn, snowcone, and cotton candy part.
When we were getting ready, Livee was wanting to wear a cowgirl belt and some jeans. Too cute.
