I really want to better at recording my spiritual experiences so my kids and family can know how I have been touched. Today I had one of those experiences. Today is Fast Sunday. We have it once a month. It is a day to really think of others, and those in need. We are asked to pay Fast Offerings on this Sunday. We are to pay only what we feel we can give. The ward then turns around and uses that to help out those in our ward who are struggling. When the doorbell rang after church to collect my Fast Offereings, I thought, "I only have about $5o in the bank and that needs to last me all week." We are really trying to keep to a budget and not dip into our savings, but I already had to once last week. What I am getting at, is I really debated in my head what I should do. I had a quick thought of "it is pretty unlikely or realistic that I will get any more money this week".
I decided to write the check out for my regular amount even though it would cut things real tight. I felt good about it and every time I pay Fast Offereings I think of how many times my family was helped back in our Kuna ward when times were so so low for us, and I feel blessed.
So, tonight, my Dad was in on the piano working on some choir songs, and saw a notebook sitting in the window. It is my violin/piano notebook that I keep track of my stuff. And for some crazy reason he decides to open it. There are 2 checks from my violin students, total of $88, that I had completely forgotten about. I know these aren't large numbers, but it is the fact, that Heavenly Father will fill in the gaps for me if I will just do the things that he asked us to do, and to trust Him even if it doesn't make sense sometimes. I love my Heavenly Father. I love Sundays so that I can have a day to fill my spiritual cup that keeps me a float during the week.
