Surgery

Livee survived surgery like a champ.  We got there about 11:30. The hardest part of the morning was no food or drink. We stayed up til 10 eating and drinking lots.  After we checked in and were called back to the prep room is when her nerves got to her.  Putting the hospital gown on triggered it.  She was crying and fighting me.  After about 20 min of her squeezing my neck off she relaxed a bit. We did some coloring and paper dolls. This is when her hunger really started setting in.   Finally around 1 after a long wait, it was time to go back.  She was so brave.  I kissed her and told her good luck  and I would be here waiting for her to wake up.  She didnt even cry at this part. So brave.  This is when my nerves became bunched up in my belly.  Savanna tagged along with me and so we headed to grab something to eat.  I didnt want to be gone long. It just didn't feel right to be gone.  Savanna and I had some good laughs in the waiting room. She showed me some youtube videos that they watch in class. The things they do at school.
She came out of surgery just fine.  She was quite upset when I came in.  I was so excited to see her and comfort her even though I got a bit choked up when I first saw her but that quickly went away.  I think it was more relief than anything.  She wasn't in any pain but she was not diggin the IV.  We finally got a few drinks in her and then the nurse took it out.  After settling down, the first thing she asked for was some fart putty. Family Dollar sells this fart putty that she has been wanting and I promised her some after.  She did start to feel car sick as soon as we left the hospital.  Boy did that bring back memories of the summer burn trips.  She never actually barfed, thank goodness.  We stopped and got her a gogurt.  She only had a few bites until she crashed.  Savanna hated her new phone so we headed over to the verizon store to exchange it before her 14 day period was over.  She stayed in the car with Livee, who slept the whole time.  I finally got done and came out to bored Savanna with Swedish fish rings all over fingers.  Quite comical.  She did make my trip funner.  Livee slept until we got to Burley where she requested some ice cream.  Today she is doing great.  She wanted some medicine in the night and this afternoon but that is pretty normal.  Her eyes look a bit like she got punched in the nose.  She is such a brave tough girl.  One more experience that we survived through.
