Here is the picture we showed the guys from work that are going this week. We'll see how long it takes for them to figure out it isn't real. Wow, I never knew how competitive the fishing world was. Pretty Funny. The Berlinguet Bunch

Steelhead Fishing
I was given the chance of a life time this last weekend. I got to go Steelhead Fishing up the Salmon River. Thank you Dick and Dar for inviting me. Thank you Brad for letting me go. I love you.
We had just got done discussing how Julie is afraid of heights( Did I say deathly afraid? That is what I meant) and then she saw that we had to cross over this bridge. She had a major panic attack. Poor thing. The scary part about this bridge is that isn't room to turn the truck so that the boat will clear the bridge. There is mountain next to it, and a cliff on both sides. So it takes about 10 minutes of backing up and pulling forward until you are in the exact spot. Then on the other side there isn't much room either. Definitely tell that this bridge was made before jet boats.
I love old bridges. This one was so beautiful.
After guiding Dar where to drive he just walks across so he can guide her on the other side.
On the drive up, we saw a man out front of his property. Dick knows everybody, so we stopped to say hi. While they were talking I saw this old barn. It was so pretty.

Julie and Anca
We are finally ready.
We were just starting to fish. We each cast out once, and then reeled back in to try again. Julie went to cast out again and "Kurplunk" the whole reel fell of the pole and into the water. Snap!!! It wasn't tightened on the pole. So they tried saving it by pulling on the line, but it wasn't tighed to the reel at the other end.
Julie got her gloves hooked up, and so Anca was trying to help her get unhooked, and she got hooked. We were laughing like crazy.
Darlene caught the biggest fish. It measured 31 1/2 inches.
Dick had to do our dirty work. On the second night of cleaning fish, the fish were slippery and slipped into the river and he went in and fetched them. So he was cold and wet.

We stayed in Riggins at a Motel. We wanted to stay at Mackay Bar, but there wasn't any room. We got up to take showers the next morning, but the 3 of us girls couldn't figure out how to turn the shower nozel on from the bath tub water. Darlene came and showed us, but it was too late by then. It was funny.
We were out maybe 15 minutes and Julie caught her fish.
Our boat driver.
A lot of spots have this beautiful moss growing on them because there isn't much direct sunlight on some of the spots because it is in a bit of a canyon.
Welcome to Shepp Rach.
There is so much beautiful sand. In the summer time everyone swims and plays in the sand.
This is a beautiful BBQ pit.
I tried to get a picture of the cat who was taking a nap on top of the tractor, but he heard us coming.
They raise their own pork, milk Paris the cow, (dang I didn't get a picture of her). Dick brings up new pigs in the spring on the boat, and transports the cow on the boat. Crazy thing.
This was hanging on the side of the barn. It is a tangle of lures and fishing line. I thought it was so cool.
They have pack mules for their hunting guides they do.

This is the little strip for the airport. If you look real close you can see the mail box. I think the mail is delivered once a week by plane.
Here is the pump house for the generators.
Lyn and Mike, the managers, take care of a big garden. They really have These pumpkins were sitting waiting to be used. They were huge. I tapped on it, it makes the same sound my belly does when you tap on it=).
They have their own fruit trees and can all the fruit to use for the guests. Sometimes they will come out and see bears just sitting in the trees hanging out.
This is the main cabin. It is actually the original where the chairs are, and they built on to it.
We were all laughing so hard when we saw how this picture turned out. Dick took this picture and by accident he centered the horns right over my head. So the joke was that I was "horny" the whole day.
Dick is the boat driver and had been doing all the driving. He gets out during lunch and not but 5 minutes later we hear "Fish On". It took me all day to get a fish.
They all thought I needed my picture with these horns since I had a previous horn picture.

Mackay Bar does more just lodging than guides. They serve some incredible meals.
In between the trees was a stretch of grass and that is where the little planes fly in and land.
This deck overlooks the river.
The long horn sheep were so fascinating and beautiful.

We got to spend the night at a friends cabin in Donnely. It was so comfy and cozy there.
