Big girl-swimmer

Today I really was noticing how big Livee is getting. We drove to Clark's together. The back sliding doors on our van are super tough to open so she usually climbs up front and gets out my door. Today she told me "I got it mom". She opens the passenger and gets out and shuts it. On the way back to the car she walks around to the passenger side, opened the door, climbed in and pulled the door shut. My baby can't be that tall can she? I told her she was getting to big. She just smiled at me so proud of herself.
She also is getting pretty comfortable at the swimming pool. It has taken her most of the summer but she is finally swimming.
My other baby Savanna is growing up too. She went to her first real boy-girl party tonight. She has 2 of her friends staying over and they have spent a good couple hours getting beautiful. They did look beautiful. I drove them to the party. On the drive I had to do my motherly thing and give them the rules. Savanna has a couple super boy crazy girlfriends. I told them that holding hands was probably ok but that I don't think they are ready for the kissing thing. T asked if hugging is ok. I said that a 3 second or less "hi, I'm glad we are friends" hug is ok, but long hugging leads to rubbing body parts. They all responded with "oooooh, gross." "Mom, that didn't even cross our minds", and I informed her that sometimes boys think about those things so be prepared if a boy tries to make a move. Now, I know that is a bit harsh and a little detailed, but when I was that age, I didn't know nothing about nothin' and I wished I would of had a little bit more knowledge in that department. The girls had fun and now they are sitting in the hot tub rehadhing their night. Oh to be 13 again....
