Laundry room dance...

Today dad and I attacked the laundry room. You can actually see the counter top. I think we were both not looking forward to it. I started cleaning the bathroom and told him he could get started if he wanted but he said " I don't dare start alone. Too scary." and he just chuckled as he does. I woke up feeling crappy and took a bath this morning. Oh how I missed my big tub. Got all drugged up and felt good. About 6 pm, I started feeling like crap again. Achy, coughy, super duper stuffed nose, maybe even a fever. I finally went and took a bath. That helped with the stuffies for a minute and warmed me up. I headed to bed early. I first made myself a homemade toddie of honey, apple cider vin, lemon, shot of hot mustard. We will see if it helps. I am ready to be better and the kids to be better.

can't sleep...

I can not fall back asleep. One minute I am freezing cold, the next I am pouring sweat. I am having a hot flash at the moment.
I went to climb into my bed tonight and found a spider. It was a little one, but I am going to have to stay on top of my laundry piles so I can keep the spiddies away. Creepy. Ever since I was a little girl, I have had this fear of my ears being exposed at night to the elements, so I have to sleep with hair or sheets over my ear when lying on my side. I haven't felt a need for this for quite a few years but after seeing that creepy spider, it came back.
Boomer is adjusting ok. He is going through as many changes as the rest of us. My dad wasn't too excited about him being an indoor dog. I don't blame him. I feel that too. But he is a proffessional escape artist. So we tried locking him on the back hallway at night, but he would knock the gate down everytime. So I found a big dog kennel in the barn. My sister had bought it for her mastiff. So we take him to the barn and lock him in each night. He doesn't come in much anymore. Honostly, I am ok with it. He is too big for an indoor dog and it isn't cold in the barn.
Tigga, the cat, she is still adjusting. My dad's cat sassy, is quite sassy and isn't so sure about her. Lucy, the lapdog, loves to chase her and bark at her, so she hides out a lot. She will get more comfortable as time goes on.
I can't believe it has been a week already. Jase is already trying to figure out how to save his money so he can buy a 4 wheeler. My sister down the road has a couple and he got to ride them. Now that is all we talk about.
This place brings me a sense of calmness. Not sure why exactly. Maybe it is home to me since I grew up in this house? I don't feel like my to do list is very big, I am not running everywhere, we just hang out and play lots ot games. That will probably change once school starts.
Well, I am going to try to go back to sleep for a minute.
