I had the perfect Mother's Day. I was able to sleep in. Brad was at work, so it was just me and the kids in the morning. We got up and made waffles together. Well, me, Livee and Aleena. The other kids woke up a bit later. Hallie spent most of Saturday working on a special video for me. She had me watch it during breakfast. It was amazing. She did an awesome job. I watched it like 10 times through the day. Savanna gave me box of chocolates, which I love. Aleena and Livee had made me sweet cards. Jase gave me the biggest hug and helped me empty the hot tub and clean it out, which really needed it. It was such a beautiful day outside and I didn't want to spend my day in the kitchen or the house, that I decided lets pack up and go spend the afternoon in Burley at the river having a picnic, some Subway, and just hang out with each other. It was perfect. Brad met us over there. The 3 littles were even brave and got in. Jase had a little mishap. He had taken his glasses off to get in. Got in for a minute and then came and sat back down. Put his glasses on, and suddenly decided he would run and jump in off the dock. But forgot to take his glasses off. Yep they fell off and went straight to the bottom. The water was FREEZING. Like take your breath away cold. If it would have been warmer, Jase would have spent some time in the water diving for them. It is probably only 6 or 7 feet deep but I am pretty sure he would have gotten hypothermia. So he was sad the rest of the time. We didn't really get mad at him because it was an accident, but the natural consequence of having no glasses was causing him to be mad at himself. We were able to come home and do some repairs on an old pair. Anyways, after we ate and hung out a bit, we went for a walk along the river. It was a nice walk. Lots of beauty, conversation and just hanging out. On our way home, we stopped at DQ and grabbed a dilly bar for everyone.
I am so thankful that I get to be these kids' mom. They are my everything. I am also thankful for my mom and my husbands mom and stepmom. They have all played such huge roles in our lives.
Aleena gave me the best present ever. A much needed eyebrow tweezing. She thought that was the coolest thing ever, and I always have a million hairs that can be tweezed.
Livee made this at school.
Aleena made this at her friends house.
