Brad update..

Brad went in to a check up on tuesday for his arm. All they did was pull out the drain and said see next week. It was about a 10 second appointment. I think they are waiting for the swelling to go down. He attempted work last night. Luckily it was a slow night and all he had to do was a few batches of something in a dryer and then he came home. He only worked about a half of a night. But he was pretty tired and ready to take a good pain pill. He just took ibuprofin yesterday so he could drive and go to work. He said it wasnt terrible. He said it was really starting to be annoying more than painful. Swollen, acheing kind of annoying. He said he kept feeling a spot that felt like their was a bug inside his arm or something, but is pretty sure there isnt, but it was just an annoying feeling. Like he wants to scratch it. When he takes the good pills, everything is itchy on him. No rashes, just itchy figity. I finally had to go sleep in Jase's bed because he was so wiggly and in and out of sleep so often. Hopefully it just gets better each day. Although, he had to go to work with untied shoes because nobody was there to tie his shoes. Woopsies, I forgot about that detail. He might have to have a buddy at work help him.

Volleyball camp

Savanna had her first day of volleyball camp today. It is put on by CSI in Twin Falls. I brought her and Kaydee is watching my kids. It has been a nice quiet break. Savanna loves volleyball and hopefully this camp will be a great tool for her upcoming season. From what she said and the little bit I watched, it should really stregnthen her abilities and it is a mini vacation for me. Love it.

Chickens

Dad has about 20 laying hens. They decided they were done laying eggs. He was only getting about 4 or 5 eggs a day and some days only a couple. Dad ordered 25 new ones to replace the old ones. They sent him the wrong kind and so they sent him 25 more. His first set of chicks were getting big enough that they were needing to be moved into the big coop where the old ones were. We placed an ad to see if womeone wanted some stewing hens. No takers. So we decided we would butcher them ourselves. Linden came up and helped us. Brad had to be at work, so it was just us 3. *this is the same night Brad broke his arm* We had a little help from the neighbor boys but after a few, the thrill was gone. They liked catching them and hanging on to them while their heads were chopped off. I know, a bit gruesome, but we were as gentle as we could be. Dad even said "poor little chickens". Laying hens dont have much meat on them, but we got about 13 quarts. I have yet to try it. We are a little nervous about trying it. I just hate to eat it and it tastes terrible after all the time we spent on it.
Thank you to Linden for coming and helping. It sure saved us. And he brought his kids so that was fun for the kids to see each other. We sure miss seeing them guys. There were lots of pictures and.videos taken by Savanna. Kell came with her kids to help but had to leave before we got started so her kids told Savanna to video it so they could watch it. I decided not to post sny gorry chicken pictures. That would just be wrong. So here in a bit we will start getting about 50 eggs a day. Can't wait.
