Jase came running in yesterday yelling "I just taught Aleena how to ride a bike!!" Brad and I looked at each other with the "yeah, right" expression. Aleena hasn't really been on a bike. She has ridden her sisters scooters, and we have this plastic tricycle thing that she rides occasionally, so we were a bit hesitant to believe that she just learned how to ride a bike. We went out to witness this event, and sure enough, she was riding the bike. It was a neighbors little miniature bike, like it belonged in a circus, but it fit her just fine. Of course I forgot to grab the camera and get it on film, but today we will have to go out and video her. She was so proud of herself just riding around like she had done it a 100 times before. I guess for her birthday in October we will have to find her a bike of her own.
The rest of the day was OK. I just was having an OK day. I don't know why but I occasionally have moods of OK-ness. I think it came from not showering and getting dressed. I know, it's gross. I did have a bra on and some loungy clothes, but that doesn't help me feel any better. Part of my mood was from not being able to go and play this weekend. THat is the only down side to a job on the weekends. I have lost my freedom of just going if I wanted too. I have actually quite enjoyed it. In the past, I really struggled with the thought of having to get a job and leave my kids, but when I took this job it just felt right. I was okay with leaving the kids. I know Heavenly Father has helped me with that part, so I hate to even complain. I am over it today, I was just having a pity party moment.
On another note, I think I found the smelly culprit that was over taking Jase's room. For about a month we just have noticed this smell in Jase's room, and we couldn't find it. We thought maybe it was the mattress, or if there was a cat stain that we didn't catch, or a hidden pull-up. We couldn't find anything obvious. So yesterday we pulled everything out of his closet. He had a few piles of clothes that were winter stuff. And we found it. It was his spiderman back pack. About a month ago he took it to a sleepover, and it was full of pj's and wet clothes from a leaky pull up, which smelled of pee. Luckily the wet stuff wasn't in the back pack, but I am pretty sure it was wet when he threw it in the closet. It got buried and was stinking on to everything. SO we have about 3 loads of laundry to do from his room. This time the winter stuff will be put in a box like it should have been the first time around.
