Party Planner...

Lately I have been thinking about what I want to be when I grow up.  This picture makes me want to be a party planner.  OOh, I love it.  Check out the full post I found HERE.  I love themes and making everything coordinate for the whole thing.

Addict...

I am not sure if I have talked about this before, but we have addict in our house.  Her name is Livee, and she LOVES "Chocate Milk", especially when she is tired or sad.  I made the mistake of giving her chocolate milk when she was younger so she would drink milk.  She hated it when we switched after a year from nursing.  The first thing she says in the morning is "can I have Chocate milk."  I have just started cutting her off at night time.  She can have one in the morning.  Fixing it for her is like a ceremony.  She HAS to get the powder out of the pantry and open it.  I get the milk, and the sippy cup.  It HAS to be a sippy cup, and after I use the powder, she HAS to put it back in the pantry.  If I try to disrupt that process she comes unglued.  Did I say addict.  My word, it drives me crazy.  She would have it on daddy's lap, brush teeth, and then snuggle back on daddy's lap and then in his bed to fall asleep.  She is doing better at sleeping in her bed.  She still cries at bed time because she doesn't want to sleep in her bed.  Either I am a meanie or Brad is a softie, but he rescues her so many times from bed.  Last night he said, "She just needs a snuggle."  I think he is her enabler=).  I love him and the fact that he hates to hear her cry.  Again, another tough transition.  She is really in that phase of life where she is going from baby to big girl, and I should have more sympathy instead of being the meany pants all the time.  Soon enough I will be begging for hugs from her because she is grown up.

Livee vs. Nursery...

Livee has this huge fear of nursery at church.  I have never been able to get her to go with out tears.  Brad comes to Sacrament Meeting with me, but then he goes home.  I teach primary and so it has been a little bit of a challenge to get her to go to nursery.  I stayed with her once for about half hour and she stayed the rest of the time.  She cried the whole time.  I just don't think me forcing her to go was the best decision.  It was like pulling teeth after that, so I just have been taking her to my primary class with me.  Well, in January she moved up to the big kid nursery.  And the leader, Anne, of this nursery is so good at her job, and she is my friend and Livee knows that.  Livee knows her as "mom, your one friend who has pet shops".  We sat by Anne once and she had little pet shops in her bag that she let Livee play with.  I was so excited to take her to nursery.  I just wanted to show her where her new classroom was and to meet some new friends, just for a few minutes.  She didn't have to stay if she didn't want to.  So before church, I wanted to prepare her a little.  As soon as I told her we going to "her class for a minute" she became so sad.  She ran to her bed crying.  Brad and I were just chuckling.  She does not love her bed, but it was cute in a way to see her run to her bed like a big girl.  So I let her cry for a minute and I hear her saying between her sobs "I wanna doe to drampas house."  She said it a couple times.  I wonder what in her little brain she associates with grampas house and feeling sad.  She must feel a comfort there, a freedom?  So she came out finally.  I tried to explain to her that Daddy was going to stay with her.  We would not leave her alone unless she was ready.  This still made her very sad and cry-ee, so I just had to tell her we weren't going.  It was the only thing to keep her from crying.  So we went to church, her stating a few times that she is not going to her class.  The time came for Brad to take her down to her class.  She became very sad.  We both walked her down there and went in.  Anne jumped right in and found her some puzzles.  She LOVES puzzles and is very good at them.  I left for my class and Brad stayed with her.  Brad stayed for about 15 minutes. She was having a very good time and playing and felt comfortable. She stayed and played and Brad left.  She was crying when I went and peaked on her.  Anne said she just started crying but will bring her to me if she doesn't calm down.  I never saw her so she must have done fine.  I went to pick her up, and she was crashed asleep.  She had slept for about 45 minutes.  When we got home, we talked about her class.  She told me she cried, and she played toys, and took a nap.  She didn't seem to sad about it.  We will see how this week goes.  It is nice that she is old enough that we can talk about things a little and try to work through these scary transitions in life=).  She is a brave girl.  Thank you to all those nursery leaders out there that take in our little ones.

Tired Bug...

Livee has this very stubborn streak in her at times.  Pretty sure that comes from her dad, hehe.  She knows how to put on her own panties but some days just refuses to do it herself.  I told her to stay in the bathroom until she had her panties on.  She cried and cried.  After a while I didn't hear any more crying.  Luckily my other kids leave their clothes wherever they take them off and allowed her to have some sort of a cushion.  Plus it is warm in the bathroom when you shut the door.  She cracks me up.  Although, I should have left her there and just covered her up with a blanket but I made the mistake of putting her panties on, and moving her to the couch.  That woke up the wild bear in her.  She cried for like 15 minutes more and was still mad.  I think she remembered she went to sleep mad.  I don't think she remebered why, but she continued her mad stage.  She finally got over it and forgave me.  I love her.

Raspberry morning

Thoughts of Mom are with us this morning for breakfast. We opened one of our containers of frozen raspberries this morning. Mom and Dad have an incredible raspberry patch. Dad spends many hours giving them tlc outside and mom spent many hours giving them tlc inside. Dad said she was very protective of her raspberries once they made it in the house. It brought tears to his eyes when talking about it. Dad has his work cut out for him outside. Not only does he have to keep the bugs and birds out, but he has some cute little neighbor boys that sneak over to have a little morsel. I think Dad doesn't mind terribly because he just chuckles when he sees them out there. Mom, we will always have you in our hearts. Especially when we are eating raspberries:).
