Scrooge the Musical

 The Christmas play at OVAC was Scrooge the Musical.  Aleena tried out for Tiny Tim and got the part.  Livee came along to the audition and got talked into trying out.  They needed some bodies to fill stage.  She wasn't super excited at first but ended up really loving it.  It was just a big time committment and she doesn't really love being away from her Mommy.  

I usually give my kids a good luck gift on their opening night.  It has been tradition around here for a while.  

I got them these mini Stuffies filled with treats.  They are suckers for stuffed animals.

She made a cute boy.  She will always be out little tiny Tim.

This is the cast party after the last performance.  They give everyone dinner and fun little gifts.  It really was fun for the girls but it was a bit rough with performances til 10 pm for 2 weeks but everyone loved the performances.  The girls made some really great new relationships.

Showstoppers 2014

Aleena and Livee are in a group called the Showstoppers.  It is a little version of a show choir.  They meet once a week and learn singing/choreography/stage presence.  It works out great because I teach Wendy's kids violin/piano so we can do a trade.  They only do it from September-December and then take the 2nd half of school year off.  Wendy has a busy schedule and so it just works out for  her to do it half a year.  They got a new Christmas Dress out of it too.  They had the cutest costumes and I love that I can turn around and use them for personal use.  The girls really had a great time.  Of course Aleena was right in her element.  It took Livee a little to really love it.  She has been such a mama's girl this last 6 months that she would complain about going but would love it when she got there.  Wendy really is so good at loving them and making them feel important.  She even gave all the girls a nickname.  I think Aleena is Peanut 1 and Livee is Peanut 2.  They performed at the Festival of Trees, a couple ward Christmas Party's, and the OVAC Christmas choir concert.  It was a great season.

Youth Choir

Savanna has been in this little choir group.  It all started when Wendy, their leader, put together a group to sing a song at church.  They had so much fun they decided to keep practicing and learn a few songs.  Here they are singing at the Festival of Trees.  They learned Sleigh Ride.  They have on these "ugly sweaters" that light up.  They did so great.  They ended up performing at a couple different things.
