Applesaucer

As a kid, I remember many of days of making applesauce. We would sit on the end of the board to add weight so the board wouldn't slide all around. Well, the other day my sister gave us a box of apples. I decided to break out the ol' applesauce thingy and give it a try. Which my kids thought it was totally cool and the chickens and neigubor pigs loved the wormy extras. Wow. I loved it. The apples were a bit wormy but I got 12 quarts out of it. I have always just canned apples in quarters and would applesauce them later in the food processor. But I really thought it was just as easy to applesause them first and them can them. Does this picture bring back memories to any of you?

Fair week...

I forgot how many people are involved and participate in the fair here. Today is the last day of the fair. Dad, Savanna and I worked in the food booth for an afternoon shift. Our stake has a food shack and the wards take turns working in it. Savanna really stepped up and did a great job. Her and I worked the waitressing area with a couple others. Hallie stayed with Lexey last night for a sleep over and has helped her with her 4h sheep, Pixie. Wednesday we came down and watched Lex show her sheep. She did a great job. Savanna stayed that night with her friend Tisha in Burley. Tisha had a 4h pig and stays in her camper all week. We didn't make it to the parade wednesday, but did do some walking around and found Aleena's art class display. Hallie takes from the same lady but was gone to Kuna when they were setting up. Someone told me that the maple bars are the thing to eat and I didn't even know about the maple bars until I got home. So note to self, next year try the maple bars.
