Fresh Peas

My kids are getting to experience more of the garden life. We got to harvest peas the other day. They are so yummy. Even a couple of my kids ate them. Livee ate the most. They were pretty good helpers. They didn't do so good at the picking. I ended up doing most of that, but they did awesome at picking them out of the pods. Hallie even wanted to pick more today so we could take the pods off, but instead we had to pick some spinach. They picked it and pulled it off the stems and washed it and I did the blanching and packing. I saw the wheel barrow full of spinach and thought for sure my freezer was going to be exploding with spinach, but remembered how it shrinks when it is cooked.
Kell's 3 kids have been staying at my house for swimming lessons for the past 2 weeks, so we had some extra helpers. It makes the work go faster with lots of hands.
