Jase is 9
Jase had another birthday last week. We haven't really done much with birthdays this year due to moving. Jase has a couple neighbor friends, B and S. They really are good friends. Brad took them to the movie Zoo Keeper. They had to drive to Twin Falls, but Brad made it a fun boys night. Jase really had a great time. The next day we had a small family bbq and he picked hambrgrs and chips and homemade ice cream with raspberries. He said "everything tastes better with raspberries". It was quite delicious. He wanted to roast marshmallows too, but it got too late. He loves fire. We set up the ping pong set and the kids loved it. It was a great time. Happy Birthday Jase. I love you.
Bear Lake 2011 Fun...
This year we decided to try the camping thing. We stayed on the northeast corner by the Hot Springs. I didn't get any pictures of the hot springs, so if any of you have some, I would love some. We went up Sunday and came home Friday. I loved it. We were incredibly lucky and didn't get rained on the whole time. There was some wind one night, but it wasn't terrible. A few things I didn't get pictures of that I want to remember: *There was a big ol' owl that perched in a tree right above us. It was neat to watch it and keep tabs on it. *The dragon flies there were unbelievable. In the evenings, they would just swarm above us like little night dancers. *The circle around the fire at night. We could just sit and talk and enjoy each other. There is something about a fire that brings people together. The kids played apples to apples around the fire a couple of the nights. *We didn't take a group picture. It just got to chaotic. We almost had everyone there. Greg and Jean were the only ones missing. Maybe next year. Thanks to everyone for such a great time. I have the best family ever.
Nate was the Head Chef. They have a lot of nice cooking gear and he really is good at using it. This is our cooking station. Our campsite had this nice little cement pad that made a perfect spot for it.
Dad actually camped most of the time. He and Lucy shared a tent. He came up on Monday and stayed til friday. He did stay wednesday at Linden's condo and took a shower and shaved. He surprised me and camped the last night again.
The dogs usually were perched by the trailor. They did so good. I was surprised.
Meal time: Each family took a turn being in charge of a meal. That worked out pretty good.
Linden is the tent Sergant. Their boys camped over in this tent. They had a condo on the other side of the lake. Savanna went and stayed with Kayla, little princesses, and the boys camped. We all stayed in our own places on the last night. The kids weren't very happy with that arrangement because they all wanted to stay at the condo. But me being the mean old mom I am, made them stay with us.
Livee really needed a wash down so we used this little pink bucket and warmed up some water. Kaydee realized we had a big one so we moved to the big blue bucket and washed lots of kids.
Livee already had a bath but couldn't stand it and got in a second time.
Our first night there, we just found a little spot by our campsite where we could get a feel of the water. Hallie and Quincey are the little heart models.
This is the first morning. We had a little patch by our campsite that the littles would just play in the warm sand.
The big girls doing their thing, chattin' and chillin'...
Savanna being a silly clown. She has turned into quite the comedian, I wonder where she gets that from....Brad?
Tyler and Jase thought they were so funny.....Boys..
AAAHH, feel the sun...
The kids did lots of digging.
Kaydee and Nate rockin' the hammock. Hold on.
Livee and Faith just digging their toes in the sand. There is something soothing about sand and feet.
Jase having a boy moment of dirt and trucks
Hallie
The Love Birds
"OOh, this sand is warm."
Gracie and Macey trying out the new floaties.
Aleena and Kaisey floating. Aleena spent many hours just pushing the little kids around and helping them.
Savanna is getting better at letting me take her picture. She has to be in the mood though.
Because we camped we were able to bring our dogs. They all loved the beach and water. I didn't get a picture of Lucy on the beach. Did any one else get one?
This is Axle. Kaydee and Nate's newest addition.
Boomer was in seventh heaven here. Just played and played and played til he was so tired.
Here is Sashi or Slobberdoodle as my kids call her.
Due to Brad's broken arm he was unable to participate much in the beach activities. He was a pretty good sport about just chillin'.
Grampa actually didn't get a sunburn on those white legs.
They have a local playhouse called Pickleville. This year we decided to go. Since we couldn't all go, Brad, Nate, Chris and Dennis stayed with the kids and Dad, Kaydee, Amylee, Jennifer, Linden and Michelle and myself went to the play. I can not remember the last time that I laughed so much. This character Juanito actually wrote and directed the play. I believe this is his third play revolved around Juanito. It was a musical. Oh so funny. I hope he does another Juanito next year so I can take my whole family to it.
